Our Policies
At Connecting With Purpose Behavioral Health, our policies are designed with you in mind—to ensure a caring, respectful, and professional experience.

We believe that clear, compassionate guidelines create a foundation of trust and understanding, helping us provide the best possible care for your mental health journey.
Whether you’re scheduling an appointment, understanding payment options, or reviewing your rights as a client, our policies are here to support you every step of the way. Your well-being is our priority, and we’re committed to making your experience with us as seamless and reassuring as possible.
1
Scheduling appointments
To respect your time and the time of other clients, please arrive on time for your appointment. We reserve the right to cancel your appointment if you are more than 10 minutes late. Sessions will end on time regardless of when they start. We will reserve the last 5 minutes of the session to document in your chart.
2
Client Portal
Prior to completing the pre-screen questionnaire and being offered an appointment, you will be sent a link to a secure online client portal. There, you can schedule or cancel follow-up appointments, request prescription refills, give status updates, and provide non-urgent medical correspondence. Please note, messaging is not a substitute for actual treatment. If messages become too frequent or complex, we will ask that you schedule an appointment. We check messages periodically during office hours only. Messages are not to be used for emergencies.
3
Refill Requests
Refill prescriptions will be called in for current clients who maintain their regularly scheduled appointments. Refill requests will have a response time within 24-48 business hours. Emergency refill requests are not available. Prescriptions will not be called in on weekends or holidays. No new prescriptions will be called in without first having an appointment.
4
Controlled Medications
We prescribe controlled medications carefully and on a limited basis. Lost prescriptions cannot be replaced - you will need to wait until your next scheduled refill. We strongly advise scheduling your travel plans around your refill due dates so that you do not come due for a refill while you are out of town. Controlled substances cannot be called in out-of-state. This includes benzodiazepines. Lost prescriptions will not be replaced. You will need to wait until your next scheduled refill. If medication abuse or misuse is suspected, we reserve the right to cancel your prescription and request a urine drug screen.
Payments/Insurance
An active credit card will be kept on file for ease of payment. All fees are due at the time of service. Some insurance companies have out-of-network benefits. Please, contact your insurance company to determine your specific plan benefits. We are happy to provide you with a receipt called a “super bill” that you can submit to your insurance carrier for potential reimbursement.
Cancellation Policy
If you miss your appointment, you will be charged 50% of the cash pay rate for the appointment. To ensure you do not get charged this fee, please cancel your appointment 24 hours, or earlier, ahead of your appointment start time. Prescriptions will not be called in for anyone who repeatedly misses their appointments.
